The Restoration

So ... Now the fun begins :)

To start with i came to an agreement with the insurance so that i could buy the car back off of them as a cat c write off this means i can restore it back to its former glory so for this i had to pay £200

I then totally stripped the car and had a bare shell sitting on the drive and a shed / bedroom / garage full of mini bits, then i had to go about scrapping the dead shell but i was chatting to James Gordon who had helped me do stuff to the mini and he was saying he wanted a project so i offered to see if he would like the shell as a long term project and he said yes, so then we took the shell up the road to his house and gave it a new home.

I then went to a local breakers yard and they had a couple of minis, but there was an ok condition mini 25 with some rust but it was all easy to repair, all the difficult things to fix were not in need of repair so i bought this shell for an extortionate price of £50, the list of the bodywork needed is below,

1. New front end (2 wings, front panel , 1 A panel)

2. New rear valance & box sections

3. Couple of holes in the floor welded up

4. 2 New outer sills

5. Minor hole by rear quater window needs welding up

6. Needs 2 new door skins
